Finally made it to Flo Nostalgische Mode! No store carrying cheap modern stuff (labels removed) with retro design in between one or two real vintage pieces, this is the real McCoy. Dresses and jewelry as antique as 1880 are displayed among designer pieces by YSL, Pucci, Ungaro, Etro, Givenchy, Valentino, just to name a few. It was a treat to browse and to talk to owner Ingrid Raab, who just returned from Fashion Week in Paris. There she met with ChloĆ© chief designer whose first collection was inspired here in Vienna. This is hardly surprising, Mrs. Raab has been collecting since 30 years and has practically a museum to show for it.

"Fashion has become like fast-food, and a growing yearning for authenticity, tradition and craftmanship is perceptible". In the US, movie stars are already donning vintage on Oscar night - maybe Austrians will catch on this trend sooner than usual!
