Far out, man...

Top: thrifted
Skirt: thrifted (Guy Laroche)

After braving Peek & Cloppenburg the day before yesterday and forking out for a couple of new items, I returned to thrifting today and found these classic pieces. Why is it that preloved things seem so much more precious than anything new? Could it be akin to preferring vintage wine, old cars, or a stuffed animal that is grubby and falling apart from cuddling? Hm.

In the store, I was struck by the cover art on this record:

Has anyone ever heard of this band?

Wow, amazing record cover. You could write a whole fantasy novel based on that one image.

A lovely classical stylish look! Sorry, haven't heard of them-nice cover though!

Yes was one of the big British progressive rock bands from the 70s. They went more mainstream in the 80s, and their big song was "Owner of a Lonely Heart".

The guy who did this album cover has a website with even more trippiness: http://www.rogerdean.com/upclose/index.htm

Of course, I remember that song! Thanks. Also for the website.
