Japanese Oasis

Discovered this hidden gem in the 19th district, which turned out to be the perfect backdrop for reading "East Wind Melts the Ice" by Lisa Dalby, describing "the passing seasons, gardening (eastern and western), Japanese customs and a life lived between the two cultures".

Long time no visit the fleamarket, so it had to be something big, namely, this vintage alligator handbag.

Per fumare

At the Parfumb├Ârse, Wien.

For ever on the hunt for the perfect fragrance for the season, a newly discovered biannual perfume exchange in the 12th district held much promise for me. While I left with only a few miniatures (some flacon collectors won't accept an opened vial so most scents could not be sampled), viewing vintage Guerlains in their Baccarat bottles was a treat! Alas, once sniffed, two were not to my taste, but finding a mini of the tragically discontinued Donna Karan Black Cashmere absolutely made my day.

What are your favorite frags for springtime?

Oh, it's been so long. On top of the day job, another fun obsession lured me away from posting in the last year. But here I am again to showcase a brooch gifted by a dear friend. Wearing such an item can lead one dangerously near grannydom; the rest of one's outfit must, must, must be kicky to counteract the frump. If you have any inherited specimens lying around, have a look over at The Glamourai for a great tip on How to Wear Brooches Better.
